Program: Karen Hughes, American Lung Association
The American Lung Association: Championing lung health since 1904
Since moving to the area in 2005, Karen has been an active chamber member and a lover of all things Jacksonville! After spending the first decade of her career as a leader in retail banking, she decided to shake up her career and entered the non-profit sector. Beginning at the American Lung Association as a development manager for the local office, she now serves a dual role as local Executive Director and National Director of Special Events. She thrives on helping others and believes that the long-standing history and achievements of the American Lung Association give her the best platform to positively impact her community.
Karen is a former recipient of the Jacksonville Chamber Beaches Walter R Murr Award for service and has also served on the Beaches Board. A proud graduate of The College of William & Mary in Virginia, Karen now lives in Atlantic Beach with her husband Jason and their newborn son Bodhi.

Spotlight Speaker: Lauren Godwin, Florida Blue
Lauren Godwin is a Service Consultant at Florida Blue, where she guides members on how to take control of their health and wellness journey. This includes educating the public about their benefits, maximizing resources, and guiding them to become self-sufficient within the health insurance space.
As a Jacksonville native her passion for local families and small businesses directed her last 13 years to maximizing the operations and marketing within a national franchise, then later to a Jacksonville sports facility. This allowed her the opportunity to create nationally recognized programs and be a leader in local, niche industries.
After hours you can find Lauren at the beach, trying to keep things alive in the garden, or striving to match the energy of her 4 year old son.
